Okay, so this video is just a comedy sketch. But it does remind me that Blue Badge Abuse is rife.
It been suggested in a recent article in The Telegraph that of the 2.5 million disabled parking permits currently issued, that around half of them are being misused.
Telegraph:
"Under the Government's plans, to be announced within days, councils will be given additional powers to impose checks on applicants similar to those undergone by people claiming disability benefits."
As a wheelchair user who is constantly frustrated by seemingly perfectly able and healthy drivers taking designated parking bays and blocking pavements and my local high Street just because they are too damn lazy to do something I would love to be able to do, I think anyone caught misusing a blue badge should be ordered by a judge to be confined to a wheelchair for a time so they can see just how much of a pain their selfishness causes.
