Exciting programme of activities for disabled people in Redditch

FOR all disabled people over 16, Reddich YMCA is now providing an exciting sports and social club at its centre in Church Hill on Monday evenings from 7-9pm.

A fantastic programme is planned to include activities such as boccia, kurling, badminton, table-tennis, skittles, archery, basketball, netball, yoga, cook and eat sessions, fitness activities and visits out.

Darren Veness, Redditch YMCA's youth and services manager, said: "We are delighted to be able to offer this new weekly club aimed at increasing facilities, sporting activities and social outings for young disabled people and we are really looking forward to meeting all those who come along.

"In the future, we are also hoping to set up a Redditch Boccia and Kurling club which will compete at local and national level."

The club is run by fully qualified staff, all of whom have worked with disabled young people for many years and have had an enhanced CRB check. As part of the club, a mini-bus pick up/drop off service will be available at a small additional cost.

This has been made possible with an Aiming Higher for Disabled Children grant from Worcestershire County Council and Redditch YMCA's partnership with Chadsgrove Specialist Sports College.

The cost is £1.50 per week (£2.50 if transport is required, which must be booked in advance).
