Regional disability charity Papworth Trust has grown by 40% in the past year, despite the recession. Client numbers across the organisation have almost doubled over the last two years and we are now making a real difference to the lives of 17,000 people and their families each year.
One of our services, which supports disabled people living in their own homes in the community, has grown very quickly and still continues to grow. This is why we are keen to recruit new people to join our enthusiastic and committed teams, who share our wish for disabled people to have greater equality, choice and independence.
Lucy Bolden is Community Services Manager in Suffolk and has received a Community Care Champions award for her work. She says “Every client is different and we make sure that the support we provide is specific to each individual. This can be hugely rewarding work, you will need patience and imagination to make a difference.”
Mark lives in a Papworth Trust shared house. He says “My Support Workers help me with things like doing my washing and sorting my money out. They also help explain things and talk things through if I don’t understand something. I like spending time with my friends and my Support Workers help me to do this as well. We often go to the cinema, bowling and snooker – and the pub of course!”
We are recruiting now for full and part-time permanent positions in Reydon and Lowestoft. Whether you have experience, or if you have never delivered care and support before, come along to find out more. Drop in to our Recruitment Open Day at The Royal Norfolk & Suffolk Yacht Club, Royal Plain, Lowestoft, NR33 0AQ on Tuesday 26 January anytime from 9am to 5.30pm or call 01480 357281 or visit our website www.papworth.org.uk/jobs.php.
Notes to Editor: Papworth Trust is passionate about supporting disabled people by providing a wide range of valued services.
