The Connect and Physical Disability Support Services (PDSS) web pages have been launched by Worcestershire County Council.
The pages provide information on the support services for individuals who have a physical and/or sensory disability, or for those who support them.
The Connect service offers opportunities for individuals to overcome personal barriers, such as lack of confidence and low self-esteem, develop independence to travel, enjoy a more varied social life, broaden educational opportunities as well as access to employment and volunteering.
PDSS aims to encourage as much independence as possible, assisting individuals in aspects of their life which they might find difficult or impossible to manage alone.
Mick Drage, Worcestershire County Council’s community access manager, said: “The county council has worked hard to put together something that we think will be of relevance to the residents we support.”
More details can be found at worcestershire.gov.uk/pdss.
If an individual, parent or carer does not have a computer, then further information on both the Connect and Physical Disability Support Services is available through the county council’s access centre.
To contact the centre telephone 0845 6072000.
